D-40. The canalization zone uses natural obstacles or artificial obstacles to canalize the vehicles into the checkpoint:
- Place warning signs out forward of the checkpoint to warn drivers of the checkpoint ahead (at least 100 meters).
- Canalize the vehicles so they have no way out until they have the consent of personnel controlling the checkpoint.
- This zone encompasses the area from maximum range to maximum effective range of your weapon systems. It usually consists of disrupting or turning obstacles.
