E-53. The MRAP family of vehicles consist of three variants (MATV, MaxxPro Dash, and the MaxxPro long wheeled base ambulance). These variants are then arranged into seven configurations. (Refer to TC 7-31 for detailed information regarding the MRAP family of vehicles.) The variants are determined by the following broad mission profiles:

  • M-ATV. A protected all-wheel drive combat vehicle used as a weapon/armament carrier in support of close combat maneuver, reconnaissance and surveillance, convoy protection, mission command and general battlefield circulation by maneuver, cavalry and support units. Inherent armor protects vehicle occupants from small arms fire, fragmenting munitions, and blast. It provides cargo space for Soldier equipment and supplies and can mount standard crew-served weapons.
  • MaxxPro Dash. A protected all-wheel drive combat vehicle used as an armored personnel carrier, mobile command post, weapons/armaments carrier, and CBRNE reconnaissance in support of close combat in maneuver and support units. Delivers teams of Soldiers to decisive points. Inherent armor protects vehicle occupants from small arms fire, fragmenting munitions, and blasts. It provides cargo space for Soldier equipment and supplies and can mount standard crew-served weapons.
  • MaxxPro Long Wheel Bass (LWB) Ambulance. A protected all-wheel drive vehicle used as an armored ambulance for medical evacuation from forward areas. Carries and powers medical equipment set to support enroute care. Inherent armor protects vehicle occupants from small arms fire, fragmenting munitions, and blast. The objective gunner protective kit can mount an M249 5.56 squad automatic weapon for self-defense.
