E-58. The gunner standing in the objective gunner protective kit or using the RWS is the only crewmember with 360-degree visibility. Vision restricted conditions require Soldiers to acquire situational awareness through thick transparent armor and video display screens allowing maneuver over and around unknown terrain day and night. Sequencing actions and timing can be critical during weapon system engagements, loading of ammunition, turret movements, and maneuvering the vehicle in combat. Not effective as a combat vehicle when fighting against enemy light armored or armored threat.
