1-1. This section discusses in general terms, the Army’s overarching guidance on unified land operations. Military operations occur in complex environments shaping their nature and affecting their outcomes.
This requires an understanding of the operational environment in which the unit fights, how the Army fights, and the way small unit leaders lead their units and how Soldiers conduct themselves. (Refer to Army Doctrine Reference Publication [ADRP] 3-0 for more information.)
